It’s hard to believe that a month has passed since we brought home our adorable little kitten, Jasmine Marie (aka Jazzy). At just eight months old now, Jazzy has settled in so well and so quickly. From the moment she arrived, it was clear she was going to be a perfect fit for our family, especially with her sweet personality and infectious energy.
One of the most heartwarming things to witness has been the bond between Jasmine and our senior dog, Molly. Jazzy, who is still a playful kitten at heart, looks up to Molly as her big sister. The two are inseparable. Jasmine loves to snuggle with Molly, and they share endless playtime together, especially when it comes to their favorite game: chasing the laser light. You’ll often find them both playfully darting around, tails high, as they try to catch the elusive dot.

It’s adorable to watch, and Molly, despite being a senior pup, has never seemed happier. She’s even taken to enjoying Jasmine’s cat toys and greets us with them, proudly showing them off.
Jasmine’s personality is absolutely delightful. Her favorite toy is her rainbow wand, which she carries around the house like a little treasure. It’s a joy to see her prance around, proudly holding it in her mouth. She’s too cute for words and has such a big, loving personality. What I’ve noticed the most is how she truly lights up our home, keeping Molly young at heart with her playful energy and affection.

Another surprising thing about Jasmine is how much she loves car rides, just like Molly! It’s so sweet to see the two of them enjoying their outings together, with Molly always having her little companion by her side. Whether it's a trip to the park or just a drive around town, they make the perfect pair.
As a pet sitter, I know that bonding doesn’t always happen overnight. It can take time for pets to adjust and form connections. That’s why we feel especially fortunate that the bond between Molly and Jasmine was almost instant. They really seem to love one another, and it’s been so fulfilling to see their relationship blossom.

Jasmine’s journey to us hasn’t been an easy one. We adopted her from a foster home where she was known as Jessie. At the time, her foster family told us that she and her brother had been abandoned as kittens and left to suffer. They both had serious eye problems that required treatment, but miraculously, they survived. Her brother has since found a forever home as well, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their second chance at life.
When we first met Jasmine, we were told that she was about 7 months old and had a love for dogs. Her foster family even sent us videos of her being sweet and affectionate, often tilting her head to the side when spoken to—much like a dog does. To help ease her transition, Susan brought a blanket with Molly’s scent to the foster home, so Jasmine could start getting familiar with her new sister’s smell. We also brought one of Jasmine’s own blankets home to let Molly get used to it. These little steps helped make the transition smoother for both of them.

Now, a month later, Jasmine has made herself completely at home, and we couldn’t be happier with how things have turned out. She’s brought so much love and joy into our lives, and watching her grow and thrive alongside Molly has been one of the greatest gifts.
We are beyond thankful for Jasmine and the wonderful foster family who gave her the love and care she needed before coming into our lives. She’s a reminder of the resilience and beauty of rescue animals, and we’re so lucky to call her ours.
